A Tapestry of Words and Worlds, a theme that explores and reveres the connections, ties and bonds between the Caribbean ancestral lands and the diaspora communities they have birthed.

This year the festival’s theme is A Tapestry of Words and Worlds and hopes to explore the connections, ties and bonds between ancestral lands and the diaspora communities the have birthed.

As the pandemic marches on, we are moved by the brave and bold conversations and actions that continue to upend, spurn, reject and challenge the ‘norm’, if the norm may be considered a world view and set of behaviors and policies that profit and promote a small but powerful minority majority. We are awed by the unearthing of traditions, healing stories and ideologies rooted in the once marginalized indigenous nations and peoples.

To this end, we’d like to encourage submitters to consider the following in the telling of their stories.
